Tropical Storm Agatha that hammered Guatemala over the weekend also was likely a catalyst in the final collapse of a massive 100-ft wide by at least 200-ft deep sinkhole in Guatemala City. The sinkhole swallowed up part of a three story building but the only casualty I have heard about is one man who is still missing. A remarkably similar sinkhole opened up in 2007 if you ever got the email for the ‘7 amazing holes‘ (scroll down to the bottom). [Source: National Geographic Daily.
