GEO-SLOPE just announced last week that they have posted over 30 hours of training videos for learning their popular GeoStudio 2007 geotechnical software package. The videos are based on the content of their training workshops, including the annual one in Banf, Canada. They also have links for the example files, handouts and even reference papers that can be downloaded. They say the best format for these ‘self-hosted workshops’ would probably be a group setting in your conference room or something but I imagine you can do it at your own pace as well. Certainly the cost savings over travelling to attend one of their workshops should make this an option for some training on this popular geotechnical software package. Rockfall Protection Videos from G.T.S.
More videos! French Company G.T.S. has posted some great videos on rockfall protection systems on their YouTube channel. I don’t speak French, so I can’t give you any more info on the company (although their website looks like it has plenty of info!). But the videos cover the preparation of, drilling for, and installation or rockfall protection fences and barriers as well as a couple of general rockfall ones. They just have video with background music, so no worries about a language barrier. You can watch the installation video below.
