Gary Taylor, L.G., L.E.G. has been promoted to vice president of Hayward Baker’s Santa Paula office in California. He has also been names as a member of the company’s Executive Committee.

Hayward Baker Inc., North America’s leader in geotechnical construction, announces the promotion of Gary Taylor, L.G., L.E.G. to vice president of the company’s Santa Paula office in California.
Mr. Taylor has also been named the leader of Hayward Baker’s Western Region Special Projects team, where he directs a team of engineers in the design and estimating of various ground modification projects in the western states and Canadian provinces. In addition, he has also been named a member of Hayward Baker’s Executive Committee.
Mr. Taylor has been with Hayward Baker since 1988. Prior to his promotion, he was an area manager for the Santa Paula office. He has more than 30 years of engineering design, supervision and onsite project management experience, with special expertise in chemical grouting, compaction grouting, cement grouting, soil fracture grouting, jet grouting, ground anchors and micropiles.
Some of Mr. Taylor’s notable projects include ones for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority, numerous City and County of Los Angeles tunnel and dam projects, and many infrastructure initiatives throughout California.
Mr. Taylor holds a B.S. degree in Engineering Geology plus an M.S. degree in Sedimentary Geology from California State University in Northridge. Prior to joining Hayward Baker in 1988, he was a design engineer at Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Corporation’s Advance Development Projects Division, as well as a geologist with several mining enterprises in the United States and Canada.
Mr. Taylor is a member of the ASCE Grouting Committee, the Association of State Dam Safety Officials, and the Society of Mining Engineers. He is a licensed geologist in the state of Washington. He is also the author of more than a dozen reports and articles that have been published by the American Society of Civil Engineers and other professional societies.
