Geobruug Tests 10,000 KJ Rockfall Barrier – New World Record

World Record Rockfall Barrier Test by Geobruug at 10,000 KJ

In Walenstadt, Switzerland, on October 16, 2017, a rockfall barrier from the Swiss company Geobrugg, stops the impact energy of 10,000 kilojoules – a new world record!  The barrier system was tested using a 25-ton concrete block dropped from a height of 42 meters which accelerated to a speed of 103 km/hr.  You can watch a video below courtesy of the Geobruug site (might take a while to download from their site).
