The cover story for Tunnel Boring Magazine’s April 2011 issue is about the Aero-train tunnel at Dulles Airport that has recently celebrated it’s first year of operation. There are 3 miles of tunnels that guide the trains under the airport; 7,700 track feet (tf) of cut-and-cover tunnel, 3,650 tf of NATM tunnel and 4,300 tf of TBM tunnel.
