Geotechnical software company Dataforensics, a GeoPrac sponsor, has a booth at the Geo-Congress conference. I caught up with their President, Scott Deaton this morning. We had a nice chat about a number of things, but he showed me an early version of an iOS and Android version of their popular PLog, their field-based borehole and well logging software. He demoed the product for me on his iPad, noting that this conference was the first time he was doing so. With the prevalence and low cost of these tablet platforms (and with a new rugged Android tablet on the way), this promises to be a very interesting product! Thanks for the chat, Scott!
