The blog of Harold W. Asmis, a retired geophysicist and engineer from the Ontario Power Generation Company. His career experience includes tunnel analysis, regional geologic mapping, and earthquake engineering in support of nuclear power plant citing. He also initiated the Southern Ontario Seismic Network. He blogs a great deal about rock mechanics, earthquake preparedness and the nuclear industry (mostly Canada, but also the U.S.). His political views can be strong, but his writing style is generally amusing.
