I can’t believe it’s that time of year again.  Here are the top 100 geotechnical engineering, geological engineering, engineering geology and geoconstruction  articles posted in 2010!  As I have mentioned before, I don’t like to rank based purely on the number of hits since it biases content that has been published for longer.  Instead, I normalize to hits per day.  As a bonus, I threw in the top 100 of all time based purely on hits.  Without further ado…

Happy New Year to all GeoPrac.net members and visitors! I send you warmest wishes for a happy, healthy and fulfilling 2009. As is the custom on most blogs, I’ve taken a look at the most popular items on the site from 2008. I define popularity as highest average hits/day, not just the most hits, otherwise it biases things towards those articles that have been posted longer. I’m a little behind with this one, regular readers might know why, but here are the top content items of the first three months of 2008 (as of 4/3/08 actually). They are in order of normalized hits (number of page impressions per day) with the total number of page impressions listed in parenthesis. There were a few near the top of the list that I was a little surprised to see and you might notice some funny math, but I didn’t bother to hand edit things. Click through for the whole list.
