Rocscience has added several new capabilities to RSPile, including installation torque analysis for helical piles. The software can now model the relationship between installation torque and axial capacity within the same analysis workflow.
The update also adds C-Phi soil modeling and expanded controls for lateral earth pressures. That should make RSPile useful for a wider range of pile behavior and soil conditions without requiring engineers to move between separate calculations and software packages.
I have not tried these features yet, but the helical torque capability caught my attention. Installation torque is one of the most useful pieces of field information available for helical piles, so connecting it more directly with the design model makes a lot of sense.
