We are at the end of National Engineer’s Week in the US, and as I was digging through the recesses of my 18 years of GeoPrac content, I came across a gem of an article that is very appropriate for the week’s theme. Back in 2010, then Kleinfelder CEO Bill Siegel contributed an article entitled We must not sell ourselves short: Engineering is an honorable profession. In it, he urges us engineers to remember that our work is important, and it makes a difference in the world! He noted how when travelling around to 50 plus Kleinfelder offices, it was the non-engineers that were showing the most pride in the work being done, and the engineers seemed too mired in their daily tasks to see the significance of what they do. So I invite my engineering colleagues to take a moment to step back and appreciate the work that we do to impact the world and the people around us!
