There is a nice little article at the Big Ideas Blog that gives you some insight into the CEO of Moretrench, Art Corwin. Art is unique in this industry from what I can tell in that he wasn’t hired from outside to run the company, he came up from the ground floor as a staff engineer with Moretrench, the only company he has worked for in his engineering career. I love his little anecdote about how he aced three exams in an architecture class. The professor asked him if he wanted to be an architect, and said he did. The prof then told him that since he aced the exams, and couldn’t draw to save his life, he should become an engineer! I am also impressed by how generous Art is with his time, volunteering for a homeless charity among other things. And that generosity is evident in the Moretrench culture that he helped shape as well. Definitely worth the time to read!
