A large landslide occured on the hillside above a complex of apartment buildings last week, partially collapsing 3 buildings and killing at least 3 people and injuring more. Dave Petley of the Landslide Blog notes that it appears to be translational in nature, and other images show how the three damaged buildings appear to have been sheared through the first floor, with columns bending over while the buildings themselves miraculously stayed upright.
