Keynetix Launch Ground Breaking Mapping Technology for Geotechnical Engineers at Geotechnica 2013

Keynetix launched their latest build of HoleBASE SI Professional at Geotechnica 2013 and this release includes technology to enable geotechnical engineers to instantly preview their site investigation data alongside BGS data and aerial photography coverage.

The BGS OpenGeoscience mapping sets, including the 1:50,000 Bedrock and Superficial Deposits, are now available to turn on in the background of the HoleBASE SI project mapping window together with Microsoft’s Bing mapping and aerial photography. Maps are licenced for commercial use, including the supply of hard copy reports. NCFI Polyurethanes and the Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Business

Using TerraThane products for lifting concrete pavement of I-85 in Atlanta, a Hayward Baker project.

NCFI Polyurethanes’ TerraThane Product Line Quickly and Quietly Improving Bottom Line for North American Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Businesses

MOUNT AIRY, NC—The distinctly American company, NCFI Polyurethanes, is known for pioneering innovative, improved, and unique uses for one of their main product offerings: polyurethane foam. Since the company’s scientists and engineers began formulating polyurethane foam back in 1967, other chemical systems companies have been saying, “wonder what they’ll come up with next?” So, it was really more of a “holy cow” moment in the 1990s when NCFI began formulating foam systems for geotechnical uses: highway and roadway repair, bridge approach repair, concrete lifting, leveling and void fill. And it’s no surprise that like all NCFI product lines, TerraThane geotechnical foam is quietly changing the way entire industries work for the better.

International Collaboration Delivers Pioneering Geotechnical Carbon Calculator

Foundation Industry Launches Standardized Open Source Tool to Compare the Sustainability of Different Foundation Techniques

Example sustainability report from EFFC and DFI's geotechnical carbon calculator toolHawthorne, NJ (May 1, 2013): The European Federation of Foundation Contractors (EFFC) and the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) are urging the geotechnical sector to make immediate use of their jointly-developed, pioneering carbon calculator tool, the Geotechnical Carbon Calculator.

Developed using internationally recognized standards, the Geotechnical Carbon Calculator is believed to be one of the construction industry’s first standardized and collaboratively produced carbon calculator tools at the European and international level.

Carbon measurement is at the core of the construction industry’s approach to sustainability. The Geotechnical Carbon Calculator uses a standardized emission factors database to make the analysis of the carbon footprint of a foundation project consistent and comparable across the foundation industry.
