Unfortunately, I missed Terzaghi day this year 🙁 but the Geo-Institute of ASCE continued its tradition from the past 3 years of hosting a live lecture/presentation by a geo-legend to share a little about Karl Terzaghi and their personal reflections on his impacts on geotechnical engineering. This year it was Suzanne Lacasse, the director of the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI). Did you know that the NGI hosts the Karl Terzaghi Library, a collection of Terzaghi’s personal documents, consulting reports, publications, manuscripts, notes, photographs, documents, and more? Spending time in the Terzaghi Library is how Professor Goodman wrote his biography, Karl Terzaghi: Engineer as Artist. If you’re like me and didn’t get to celebrate Terzaghi Day this year, you can always take the time to watch this excellent lecture!
