DENVER, CO–(Marketwire – May 10, 2011) – ACH Foam Technologies supplied an estimated 2.1 million cubic feet of EPS Geofoam to the second largest Geofoam project in the US: the West Valley TRAX line. Utah Transit Authority (UTA) constructed the light rail line to a new hub in West Valley near Salt Lake City. Projected to cost $200 million and span 5.1 miles, the project required 639 truckloads or 750,000 cubic yards of the lightweight fill material. Mar 10, 2011 – Odenton, Md. – John P. Rubright has been named president of Hayward Baker. He succeeds George R. Grisham as the fifth president of the company.

Rubright has been with Hayward Baker for 25 years. A civil engineer, he is highly experienced in geotechnical construction applications and has managed projects employing many of Hayward Baker’s technologies. Prior to being named president, he served for ten years as vice president and then senior vice president of the company’s Southern Region, where he directed financial, manpower and equipment resources along with being responsible for the design, management and installation of specialty construction projects in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama and the Caribbean countries.

ALPHARETTA, Ga.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–In response to a Jan. 28th lawsuit filed by the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) in connection with the Indian River Inlet Bridge (IRIB) replacement project against bridge design firm Figg Bridge Engineers, Inc. (Figg), MACTEC, a sub-consultant to Figg, denies the allegations in the lawsuit and cites DelDOT’s actions, project management, and decision-making as the factors that led to increased costs for the bridge. MACTEC is confident that a truly objective, fact-based review of the chronology of events, DelDOT’s responsibilities, and DelDOT’s decisions, including withholding of key information from Figg and MACTEC with the approval from the highest level in DelDOT, will result in dismissal of the complaint.
