The Galveston Coastal Services Joint Venture was recently awarded the design of a 26.7-mile long segment of levee and floodwall system along the Texas coast near Galveston. The overall project is slated to last 8 years with a construction cost of $1.9B. The design portion of the work is expected to last two years, and construction will begin in 2022. The project “Orange” is the largest of a series of projects along the Texas coast and was funded by 2018 legislation for U.S. disaster recovery.
