Winning Geotechnical Project for Bentley YII Awards

Geological Survey of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering Project

Every year Bentley Systems hosts the Year in Infrastructure (YII) awards, and in 2021, the theme was on “Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure”. There were three excellent project finalists in the geotechnical category, and the winner is:

The China Water Resources Beifang Investigation, Design and Research Co. Ltd. for the project – “Geological Survey of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering” in Tibet, China. This project involved using a variety of Bentley software tools to model a 3D geologic survey of a dam site and incorporate the findings into a digital twin.

The two finalists were:

  • Research Center of Construction – Gersevanov Research Institute of Bases and Underground Structures (NIIOSP) for the project “Geotechnical Aspects of the Moscow Luzhniki Stadium Reconstruction” in Moscow, Russia.
  • Royal HaskoningDHV from the Netherlands for their project “Moondrian – A Digital Solution for Soil Investigation”

You can read more about each project and watch the presentations on Bentley’s 2021 Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure page. Congratulations to all three project teams!
