First Tunnel Completed with Low Carbon Concrete

Tunneling World is reporting that Soletanche Bachy has completed the first tunnel using low carbon concrete pipes. The project involves a new linear discharge tunnel 921 m long, that links the new Bonneuil-en-France wastewater treatment plant to the Garges-Épinay sewer in Dugny in the north of Paris. The micro-tunneling project involved the use of ultra-low carbon concrete jacking pipes whose production emits about 1/4 of the carbon of conventional concrete jacking pipes.
