Moretrench VP Thomas J. Tuozzolo, newly elected ADSC Board member

[Editor] Moretrench [/Editor] Vice President Thomas J. Tuozzolo was elected to the Board of the International Association of Foundation Drilling (ASDC) at the IFCEE Conference held in March, 2009.

Mr. Tuozzolo, who has overall responsibility for all Moretrench’s earth retention and excavation support, underpinning and deep foundation work, has been a member of ADSC since 1998 has served on its Micropile Committee since 2006. He is also co-Chairman of the DFI Micropile Committee, which operates jointly with ADSC.

“I believe that being actively involved with organizations such as ADSC is an important part of my job,” says Tom. “As a board member I will continue to foster and uphold the high standards and aims of the organization while at the same time striving to increase awareness within the industry at large of the organization’s services and the opportunities it offers. When we all participate in shaping the future, we all benefit.”

S. Scot Litke - Winner of DFI's Distinguished Service AwardHawthorne, NJ (August 21, 2014): S. Scot Litke, D.GE (Hon.) is the recipient of DFI’s highest award to an individual, the Distinguished Service Award. He is the 34th recipient of the award, honoring individuals chosen by their peers for exceptionally valuable contributions to the advancement of the deep foundations industry. The award will be presented on October 23, 2014, during DFI’s 39th Annual Conference in Atlanta.

Since 1982, Litke has been the editor of the ADSC’s (International Association of Foundation Drilling) Foundation Drilling magazine. He also held the position of Executive Director of the ADSC from 1982 to 2009. During this time, Litke managed over 25 drilled foundation and anchored earth retention research projects funded by the ADSC and FHWA. Litke was inducted into ADSC’s Hall of Fame in 2012.

Drilling equipment at the 2009 IFCEE[Editor] Last week was the International Foundation Congress and Equipment Exposition in Orlando, Florida. The event was co-sponsored by the Geo-Institute, ADSC and PDCA. Perhaps at the next event I’ll be able to attend and provide some comprehesive coverage via GeoPrac. In the meantime, I am very appreciative of Robert Thompson of Dan Brown and Associates, PLLC. who was among the attendees (and a presenter?).
