The Ohio DOT Division of Engineering, Office of Geotechnical Engineering, has a new procedure for pre-approval of prefabricated retaining wall systems (PWRS). In an announcement from back in April, they indicate that all wall system vendors will need to provide a detailed submittal for review and approval by ODOT. Those systems that are successful at getting on the approved products list will have to re-apply every 5 years. And all of the existing systems on the list that were approved prior to April will need to re-submit for approval since their status on the list will expire at the end of 2016. [Source: Ohio DOT OGE.
