The Geo-Institute held another fantastic Geo-Congress in Los Angeles two weeks ago. They always host some of the biggest names in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, featuring them in keynote lectures and award lectures named after some of the legends of our profession, like Karl Terzaghi, Ralph Peck, H. Bolton Seed, and Shamsher Prakash. Apparently, this year was the Georgia Tech awards, as three notable GT alumni or professors received prestigious awards and presented special lectures.
- 59th Terzaghi Lecture presented by Paul Mayne of GT
- The 2023 Shamsher Prakash Lecture was delivered by Jason DeJong of UC Davis (also a GT alumn)
- The 2023 H. Bolton Seed Lecture was presented by David Frost of GT
