DBM Received Two Safety Awards from the International Association of Foundation Drilling

SEATTLE.,October 15, 2012—DBM Contractors, Inc. received two safety awards from The International Association of Foundation Drilling (ADSC). DBM was one of only four contractors to receive the award in the U.S. for contractors who perform single projects in excess of $750k and one of only two contractors to receive the Rick Marshall Commitment to Excellence in Safety Award.

DBM Contractors, Inc. was honored for its safety practices with two safety awards from the International Association of Drilling Contractors (ADSC). 2011 ASCE Distinguished Members from Geo-Institute

The American Society of Civil Engineers announced their 2011 class of Distinguished Members back in October. This year’s class included three members of the Geo-Institute: Jacobo Bielak, Chandrakant S. Desai and Shamsher Prakash (pictured below). The ASCE Youtube channel has short biography video on each member, and you can watch the videos for these three gentlemen embedded in the full post. MACTEC Rejects Allegations Made in Delaware Department of Transportation Lawsuit

ALPHARETTA, Ga.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–In response to a Jan. 28th lawsuit filed by the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) in connection with the Indian River Inlet Bridge (IRIB) replacement project against bridge design firm Figg Bridge Engineers, Inc. (Figg), MACTEC, a sub-consultant to Figg, denies the allegations in the lawsuit and cites DelDOT’s actions, project management, and decision-making as the factors that led to increased costs for the bridge. MACTEC is confident that a truly objective, fact-based review of the chronology of events, DelDOT’s responsibilities, and DelDOT’s decisions, including withholding of key information from Figg and MACTEC with the approval from the highest level in DelDOT, will result in dismissal of the complaint.

John R. Wolosick, P.E., M.ASCE, of Hayward Baker Inc. has been named the recipient of the 2008 Martin S. Kapp Foundation Engineering Award.

Odenton, Md. (Vocus/PRWEB ) July 9, 2008 — John R. Wolosick, P.E., M.ASCE, has been named the recipient of the 2008 Martin S. Kapp Foundation Engineering Award. The Geo-Institute Board of Governors of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) selected Wolosick for this award, noting his valuable contributions to micropile design and development, slope stabilization and retaining wall repairs.

The award citation presented to Wolosick cited his work for “novel and innovative design and construction applications for micropiling, earth retention, slope and dam stabilization works and the dissemination of this experience through publications, presentations, seminars and tireless promotion of new technology for acceptance in industry and government.”
