Joseph M. McCann, newly appointed Executive Vice President of MoretrenchMoretrench, a leader in construction dewatering and specialty geotechnical construction, is pleased to announce that Joseph M. McCann has been appointed to the position of Executive Vice President.

Mr. McCann joined Moretrench on graduating from Villanova University in 1970. He was appointed Vice President in 1981. Over the course of his career, he has been responsible for the design, cost estimation, installation, operation and maintenance of numerous large and complex projects involving construction dewatering and groundwater control, groundwater remediation, and ground freezing for new and remedial construction. Of particular note are Lock and Dam 26, still the largest single dewatering effort ever undertaken in the United States; ground freezing for jacking of three massive box tunnels for Boston’s Big dig; and most recently ground freezing under complex geotechnical and hydrostatic conditions to facilitate hand mining of a connector tunnel 140 feet below ground for the East Side tunnel of the Williamette River Combined Sewer Overflow project in Portland, Oregon.

Mr. McCann will continue his involvement in these types of projects while as Executive Vice President he will become more involved in Moretrench’s corporate operations, particularly in the area of employee ownership; Moretrench is a 100% employee-owned company (ESOP).
