The Chicago skyline and waterfront have been shaped with the help of deep foundations from Thatcher Foundations. The geotechnical construction company was started in 1946 by Harry Thatcher, a World War II Veteran of the US Navy Seabees. The company would later grow into prominence under the leadership of Tom Wysockey.
The PDCA has a nice article on the company and its anniversary. As I read the article and poked around on Thatcher’s website, it was pretty obvious that it is a fun place to work and that the employees genuinely care about the company. They have 4th generation employees for crying out loud! That’s not something many companies can say!
Congratulations to the entire Thatcher Foundations family and best wishes for another 75 years!
